Keyboard maestro load at startup5/26/2023 ![]() The service goes well beyond iTunes/iOS, of course- the full list of supported players is quite extensive. To put it bluntly, this is huge I've long wanted a way to get all of my movies into iTunes (and iOS) so that they could sync to devices, easily stream (without the computer on) to the TV, etc. Stated another way, you can now have movies in the Tunes ecosystem that weren't purchased there, or that weren't digital versions acquired by using an iTunes redemption code with a physical disc purchase. With the recent unveiling of Movies Anywhere, Apple has-willingly or not, I do not know-opened up the world of iTunes to movies from other places. (more…) Movies Anywhere (mostly) opens the closed iTunes ecosystem Then Chris Jennings came up with a solution that works for me (with some caveats…). I only had a few such tracks I wanted to combine, so duplicating song data and using an external tool seemed like overkill, but it seemed like the only way. ![]() (Doug Adams' $5 Join Together, for example, makes the process about as simple as possible.) I know you can still do this while ripping a CD, but is there no way to do so for other stuff already in your library?įrom the responses, I learned that my memory was wrong: You could only merge tracks during a CD import, which you can still do today:īut for online purchases or other non-CD music, the only solution appeared to be exporting the tracks, merging them together, then reimporting as one. I'm positive iTunes used to offer the ability to 'join' two tracks such that they played as one-even for stuff in your library already. I thought I remembered that iTunes used to be able to merge such tracks, and said as much on Twitter: As examples, there are a number of such Pink Floyd tracks, Queen's We Will Rock You and We are the Champions, and Jackson Browne's The Load Out and Stay. Now the macro is stored as URL in Start and can be tagged or color-coded.īy the way: the two different icons of the URLs show you quickly if it is a URL for a web page call or another URL type. There are some musical tracks that-even though they're distinct on the CD (or sold as separate tracks online)-are meant to be played together. In Start, create a new URL entry and insert one of the URLs displayed in the Keyboard Maestro editor. The editor will now display the various URLs with which the macro can be called (the basic difference is that the macro is called either by name or by identifier). ![]() In Keyboard Maestro's editor, you select the "Or by URL" option as an additional trigger for a new or existing macro. It is exactly this URL call that allows Start to launch the respective Keyboard Maestro macros. A trigger can be, for example, a keystroke, a system wake-up or a URL call. Macros in Keyboard Maestro are triggered by one or more so-called triggers. You can find more information about the software at. "Keyboard Maestro" is a comprehensive software from Stairways Software Pty Ltd for automating tasks under macOS. In the following example, we will look at how a macro of the software "Keyboard Maestro" can be launched directly from Start. ![]() If you think of URLs only as calls of web pages, you are not quite right with this: URLs can be used to control or call various programs and functions. Start can manage and execute URLs in addition to applications, files and directories. ![]()
